Repairing Transmission Leak, Electrical Connection Spacer that goes into the front of the transmission on the passenger side.

A person of average skill should complete this job in about one hour.

#1. Jack up the passenger front.
#2. Install a jack stand.
#3. Remove the connector cover using a T-27 Torx bit.
#4. Remove the wiring harness from the clip on side of plate, then pulled down on the plate to remove it.
#5. Move the tab on the spacer from the 11 o'clock position to the 7 o'clock position and the electrical connector will come off of the spacer.
NOTE: Expect it to be saturated with transmission fluid.
#6. Put in a drain pan.
#7. Remove the bolt in the center of the spacer with a 7 mm socket.
#8. Remove old spacer from the transmission.
NOTE: Expect several ounces of fluid to come out.
#9. Warning: The inside o-ring generally fails to come out with the old spacer, so reach a finger inside the hole and pulled it out.
#10. Let the electrical connector hang down to drain any fluid that might be in the wiring harness.
#11. Coat the o-rings of the new spacer with fresh/clean transmission fluid before installing it.
#12. Remove any fluid from inside the spacer socket/electrical connector, before installing the new spacer.
#13. Install the new spacer.
#14. Install the bolt in the center of the spacer with a 7 mm socket.
#15. The tab must be in the 7 o'clock position to re-install the connector, then turn it clockwise until it locks in place.
#16. Wipe everything down around the connector/spacer.
#17. Re-installed the cover.
#18. Measure the drained transmission fluid, and add the matching amount of fresh fluid.
#19. Remove the jack stand.
#20. Remove the jack.
#21. Take the car for short test drive.
#22. Jack up the passenger front.
#23. Install a jack stand.
#24. Check for fresh leaks.
#19. Remove the jack stand.
#20. Remove the jack.

NOTE: The old spacer has red o-rings and the new unit has black o-rings.
