I really want one of these!!!!!!!! 300SDL Fire Extinguisher
  At the moment - It looks like the most available is out of Europe........ Anybody have one at a REASONABLE price????????????/ Stephen

I've been importing and selling the W124/201/140 1.3 kg PUs for about $225 per kit. The one pictured above is harder to find (at least for me) but I would imagine around that same price. The biggest cost is the shipping from Europe (they are considered Hazmat)
I will see if my contact in Germany can find them in good shape. Anyone else? cheaper in numbers...

Are these filled with that white powder that messes up engine bays really well? I've seen cars that were involved in an underhood fire and someone used one of the powder filled extinguishers on them, it makes engine cleanup a real chore (provided one wanted to salvage the engine)!
If it's a Halon filled extinguisher then fine, I'd not hesitate to buy one if making an SDL all decked out with stock items. throw in an emergency triangle for the trunk lid and you've spent $400+. But for a reliable non-contaminating fire extinguisher look for a Halon one, such as the 2.5 lb extinguisher that sold for for $39 today on ebay:

I'm almost certain these can be purchased via USA dealerships, at least all the parts are on the USA price lists. Not sure what current pricing is. (And yeah, I know, just because they're on the price list doesn't necessarily mean the dealers can get them.) Luckily one came with my E500 from Shanta so I've already got one installed. Haven't taken a photo of it mounted on the seat yet, but here it is loose:
