Within about a week:
For sale, a set of four 15 inch, 15-hole wheels from an 86 300E. Email me for details. Probably pretty cheap since they show wear, which is why I'm replacing them. Previous owner scraped a number of curbs. I don't have a digital camera or I'd post pictures. I'll have the boxes to ship them from zip 95818 and can tell you each box will weigh 20 pounds. I can also tell you it costs about $15 per wheel to ship them across country Fedex Ground. Send an email for details, I'll reply and we'll do a deal. No laughing CJ...! :-)

Very funny, CJ
I'm sure they'll be here any day now. Don't spend it all in one place!

You may want to consider having a body shop refinish your wheels, this way you can get considerably more than what you are asking. Enjoy the wheels when they arrive. I included the dust shields with the wheels, I was not sure if you wanted them or not. They work ok as long as you do not brake hard. I do recomend that you remove them twice a year to clean out any dust that has built up. |

Good point on the refinishing. Thanks. Thanks also for the dust shields. I'll let you know how it all turns out.

So David - your selling them because your installing 17" Lorinsers, right?

How'd you know?
No, John. I'm the kind of guy that insists on there being buttons on the collars of my shirts. I also get kind of excited if they have the little loops in the back. I never bump my golf ball to a better lie unless "winter" rules apply to the tournament I'm in (I'm the tournament committee of my golf club), will never even try a non-conforming Callaway ERC driver and it was only a year ago that I finally put the persimmon clubs in my bag in storage (although one crept back in there for my last round). I've always thought body-piercing is what one wore armor to avoid and I have a hard time understanding why most high school, college and professional basketball players prefer wearing what my mother wore and called "coulottes" instead of gym shorts. My favorite beverage is harvested from cows and I average one cigar every six months, and don't smoke ANYTHING else. My children are unfailingly polite, though headstrong. They give me unending grief about the cigars. I just looked down and realized that I'm wearing my Allen Edmonds saddle oxfords today. I mention that not to draw attention to the make (and therefor the cost) of the shoes. Rather, it's that they are extremely well made and Allen Edmonds is so good about shoe recrafting. So much so that I've had this very pair of shoes for nearly a decade and they still look as nice as they did the day I bought them. The same is true of my car. Despite all of that, my perception is that most people don't think I'm a dweeb.
My demons lie elsewhere.

Likewise: My AEs are about 10 years old, but my Frye boots are ~30 years old! My dress shirts have french cuffs and removable collar stays. My son is old-world polite and headstrong, my daughter has perfected the headstrong part, needs work on the other. I find it strange that now the boys wear the earings and the girls have the tatoos. And it took me 5 years to switch from leather helmets, silk sew ups, and a 5 speed cluster to plastic helmets, foldable clinchers, and more gears. I am agonizing over which sacrilege is worse in the name of better braking and easier cleaning - 15" AMG monoblocks, or 16" 8 hole MBs! (or just hide some ductwork under the car and buy a wheel cleaning brush).

Given the look of your car as posted on these pages, I'd say go for the latter. Of course it's entirely up to you, but I leave you with...

Very well said. I agree with many of your observations. However, I might have to pass on the saddle oxfords.

They're a style holdover from high school some 30 years ago. There are times, of course, when I wish some of the things I held in high school were still....
awww, you get the idea.
