Hi, Tiony (I wonder how the differential swap turned out?)
I see lots different things people on this side of the pond might want but I caution folks to not simply use the weight figures for a shipping estimate, last time I saw something shipped in a long cardboard tube the Post Office applied a special factor to the cost (they use a beaded chain to measure the cartons length, width and girth) and it was a lot more than a small carton. Say, why is it I see chrome trunk lid handles for the 124 cars on eBay but always coming from the UK? Are they standard over there or something? Do you know what I am referring to? DDH

Hi DDH!
The tranny swap happened, I managed to source a German 2.88 diff from a W123 300TDT.. and now she's SO much better on the freeway! No I agree the quoted weights are for the part only, and indeed you'd need to add probably the same for packaging weight. However, our postal service does not add anything other than what *I pay*. The UK has it's rates of postage, and I'd make sure I provide an accurate quote (based at www.royalmail.com) so there's no ambiguity when lookig to post stuff across the pond. I've done quite a few of these, both ways, so never a problem now! It also depends on how fast you wish your part to arrive....! As regards chrome trunk 124 handles (sedan?), I think it's one of those "bling" accessories which were never offered by MB... ??? all best... >J

i'm glad the 2.88 is working well for you, those were installed on the 1985 300D turbos here and if installed in previous years will make the diesel glide down the road!
Right on the "bling" handles. I guess someone in the UK is cranking them out. I find it amazing that the postal authorities there haven't discovered a way to increase fees on odd length packages (pssst! Don't tell them!) DDH
