I needed a crankshaft, which requires special shipping procedures (solid box). Shipping took three months. He shipped to the wrong address. He sent a crank that was scored on three or four of the main bearings, but had it polished.. I paid extra money for the special shipping that never happened. He never sent pictures of the bearing surfaces either, as requested. He refuses to give my money back even though I sent back the crank and did not receive the rest of the parts in the order. A bold faced liar.

here is our email dialogue:

Awesome. As long as they have not been seperated yet (flywheel (auto) / crank / dampner) and you can send me a picture of the bearing surfaces or assure me of their quality, I am very close to buying these from you. I am no rush.. I probably will not be able to get working on this project for over a month or two.

Again to clarify, I need this for a OM617.952, will your parts match the application (turbo)?

Thank you
John

I can assure you of the quality of the bearing surfaces .. these parts are from a 617 diesel turbo 952... When you are close to buying these parts I will get some pics.. the engine ran like a top... I have not pulled the crank but have the short block encapsulated in a tarp and stored in my parts room Jim

Jim

I am ready to buy your crankshaft and flywheel. These are the only parts I need. If the harmonic balancer is not worth taking off, I do not mind that as well. from the quotes I got from UPS it looks like 250 - 300 $$ for everything after shipping. Please send me a quote and payment details.

I would like the crank shipped in some kind of solid box. Please confirm.

john

John, the total will be 275 dollars and includes shipping to Portland.. I accept PayPal and USPS Money Orders.... thank you for your purchase.. Your parts will be shipped in a solid box encapsulated in foam.. Jim

Thank you Jim.

Payment sent

john

+1 to avoid this guy. I sent him money for a fuel dist, several weeks later still not shipped, but he did return my money....

Thanks for PM'ing me about Jim but I gave him the benefit of the doubt buying a part from him again. He did right by me and even shipped the part to me without paying for it.

some people have had service from him and others like me have not, the entire I dea of a good or bad service ratting is just what this forum needs. If you are afraid of a rating system then do your deals some place else, I thought your thret was petty and totaly hurting your business not mine.

After two weeks have gone by, I finaly had to do this message to inform people of the poor results of dealing with Mr. Harris. Now some three weeks after sending the money order for an ICV, mr. Harris shipped the part on the 8th of aug. and i got it on the 11th, one month in total. Mr Dave was payed on paypal and I got the part the same wk, and three dollars less. thanks Dave.

I think that Greg was referring to someone else. Please check his original post and subject.

Jim Harris (jimh16671836@yahoo.com or jim16671836 on this forum) is up to his old tricks again. He agreed to sell me headrests for $100, but weeks later, no headrests have arrived. He doesn't respond to emails or my paypal dispute. I read these old threads, but there were enough people standing up for him that I hoped for the best. He even explained that he had been ill last year, but everything is better and he refunded everyone's money. So I fell for it, and stupidly "bought" headrests from him. So PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did. Find someone honest and trustworthy to buy from. I don't know if Jim is ill, disorganized, or a crook. But the bottom line is he is not a reliable source for parts. And he effectively stole from my family.

Thanks for the support and offers. I really do hope Jim Harris will eventually come through on our agreement. As mbselect pointed out, I paid a reasonable amount. If Jim does follow through, I will clearly adjust my posts to reflect the new situation.

On an unrelated note, did my comment somehow cause this thread to be "un-stickied"? Can anyone else recall if this was a Sticky yesterday? My mind must be playing tricks on me.
