Raleigh Junkyards

There is a fair amount of junk yards around Raleigh that have Mercedes. One is Price auto parts in Knightdale. Another is Cox Auto Salvage above Wilson NC. Another is Martin's Import Auto Salvage.

I have been to about all of them and these are the best ones, more and more are getting where they don't want to let you in the back to look around.

Happy hunting.

If you are willing to drive a few hours to Charlotte, Pull-a-Part on hwy. 29 is worth the drive. They have plenty of 123 chassis and the prices are damn near giveaway.

What parts do you need? Might can help...

Happy hunting,
Klaus

Lee,

They rotate cars out on a regular basis. They seem to make most of their money from selling the crushed cars for scrap so not too many hang around for more than a few months.

However, they have some great bargins. Here is the website http://www.pullapart.com/
It can be tricky to find a car by chassis, but if you search under "300" or "260" you can be reasonably sure it is a 124 if the car listed is newer than 1985 (older cars under the 300 heading are either 300SD's or 300D's). Last time I was there they had 2-3 124 chassis.

The place is addictive! You pay $1 to get in and then just pull stuff all day. Heck, I picked up a 5-speed tranny out of a 201 chassis with shifter and linkage for $45, just for an example.

Good Luck!
Klaus

Lee:
I've got an air filter Mann C 40 193 for your 300CE $20...

I saw a dark blue 4.5 SE roll down Laurens road last Sunday, wondering who's car that is...

There is an Auction at City Collision Thursday 7/20 I can't make it but the times I've been they have always had 2-3 MB's there. The cars go cheap but with scrap cars now commanding $0.06 per POUND expect each car to sell in the $200 to $300 range
