Thumbs up MB 300e W124 Wheels/Rims- $40 (santa cruz)

These are some rims off of a 1986 MB 300e. W124. These rims are not perfect. They're, well, 20 years old. These rims would be great for that set of Snow tires you want to put on your car to go up to Tahoe. Or if you need rims, but don't have the bucks right now to get those fancy ones you've got your eye on, these will get your ride on the road. As I understand it, These rims will fit both the 300e and the 190e as well as some of the larger models. This forum should be able to answer if these will fit on other models in the wheels & tires section. I tried to clean them up a bit, but you could probably do a better job. I just wanted to clean them up a bit for you.

These rims are in Santa Cruz, California. I work in Cupertino at the intersection of De Anza and 280. If you're interested, I can bring them there.

Basically, these are some true rims for a MB W124 with an element of funk to them. They're perfect as a second set or to get your ride back on the road. Now, shipping for these cannot be cheap. I'll leave that for you to figure out if you're interested in doing that. Probably cheaper to ship 2 boxes rather than one big one. I would prefer for these to be picked up, but I understand that it might not work for you if you're out of the area. If I am to ship them, please add another $20 for boxing and shipping time.

Hope we can do business.

Might I suggest a yard sale or the dumpster. Who in their right mind would want to spend freight dollars for old junky wheels let alone pay something for the wheels.

Hey 62bhp, I don't work at a store. I work for Apple Computer as an engineer. I'm there every day between 9 and 5. Otherwise, I'm in Santa Cruz.

And to you softconsult, I think that's the rudest reply I've ever gotten from another member here on mercedesshop.com. I'd prefer it if you'd allow interested parties decide for themselves what these might be worth to them. I live in a very populated area and I know there are mercedesshop members within close driving distance who might be interested in picking these up from me.

These would be great wheels for snow tires, or as temporary rims for someone restoring other rims. Have you ever heard of "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all".

Yeah, a little blunt. Obviously, anyone can offer anything for sale at any price. The reference to shipping costs was what got my attention.

Local buy could make sense to someone. Of course, using these for
winter tires in California may be improbable.

My comment was not personal.

softconsult, Not true about California. California is, climate wise, one of the most diverse states in the USA. First of all, California is HUGE and has not only communities at sea level, it has some very high elevations which get several feet of snow each year. Some up to 14 feet or more. I've personally never been to your state, Tennessee, so I cannot pretent to know what the weather is like. I can assure you that there are plenty of people, in my area, who would be very interested in rims to put snow tires on. I just need to find one of them.

Let's end this exchange. Thank you.

62bhp, you may be the 'one' I'm looking for. Let me know if you want to hook up.

I am interested in new rims but they are for my w123 240d and i dont think the w124's will look good. However, if we ever have another diesel meet you should attend.

Kyle,
I just purchased an '81 300 SD. It has three 16" rims and one 15"

The 15" is narrower than the 16", as it's not wide enough to cover the front wheel hub and put the emblem in the center.

What size are these rims? Do they use the long or short blots? The one 15" rim I have is secured with short lug bolts, all of the 16" with long ones.

I'm not that educated on wheels in general and even less so on Mercedes, but if I can be assured that one, or maybe all of these wheels will work for me, I may be interested.

Any idea of weight so I can figure out if shipping will rule this out?

Thank you,
firemediceric@yahoo.com
