Parting out Rust Free 83 300D-NY

Need to rid my driveway of Rust Free 83 300D Turbo. Excellent body parts, doors, fenders, trunk lid, hood, grill, bumpers etc. Some interior stuff also. Was running good with 207K on engine. I'm located in upstate NY, Saratoga Springs just North of Albany. Car came from Atlanta. Faded gray paint, but no dings etc.

If your in driving distance and need anything to put your car in better shape, give me a call (518) 580-1916, or e-mail me gceleste@nycap.rr.com, or respond through this forum. Stuff must go soon.

UPDATE:
Thanks for the inquiries for parts. I held off stipping anything yet because some one up here had expressed interest in the entire car, however they decided against it. The engine was running good, and transmission appeared to be fine when I drove the car home. Currently the car is on jack stands with the entire rear suspension assembly (trailing arms, rearend, shocks, springs axles, etc ) removed from the car. Also, the radiator is out of it. I thought about pulling the engine and tranny, however I really don't have the equipment or time to do this. If someone needs and engine & transmission, plus the rest of the car, they can have it all for $750. However, they would have to find some way to trailer or tow it out of here with only the front wheels on the ground. Anyone interested that isn't too far from Saratoga Springs, NY? I might be able to put the rear end, wheels etc back in for better towing options, however the price would then be $1,100.00, and that's if the weather cooperates.

Gary,
I presume your 300TD is a sedan. My activity is on hold for the moment as I just discovered I need angioplasty work done tomorrow. (Watch that Cholesterol)

I should be back on my feet by Monday and could pull the tank on the first clear day I'm not working. How does $125 sound? Perhaps UPS ground or Greyhound could get it to you if I flushed it out?? Maybe you could check with them. Don't think it would be cost effective to drive up here unless there were other large bulky items you need; it's a least a 6-8 hr drive. However, based on your profile, I think you mean "fly" up the hudson. I could definitly do some good pricing on multiple items. You don't need front fenders, bumbers, grill etc, do you. They're all in great shape on this car. Give me a call if you like.

tach amplifier

Do you still have the tach amplifier and if so, did you happen to check the cruise operation when you brought the vehicle to your location. If you know it's good, please PM me a price. thankyou and best wishes for your angioplasty.

I'm back home now sporting a new stent and things are OK. Thanks for your concern. I'm not sure where the tach amplifier is and what it looks like. Can you steer me to it? Are you talking about the Cruise Control actuator, canister looking device with vacuum lines and electrical connector and linkage to throttle etc? I can't recall if I checked out the cruise when I drove the car home. If this is the item you are looking for, I can check out the vacuum hold and mechanical actuation with my might vac, and also check the resistance range against specs with my meter. I should be able to get to this in a few days and let you know. You can reach me direct at gceleste@nycap.rr.com

Hi Rick,
As per the prior response, I should be able to get back on this car in a few days and I'll get back to you. (Wife has me under house arrest for a few days recouping) I know the doors are in great shape would require minimal prep to be repainted etc. When you say stripped, do you mean without door panels? How about glass, window motors, locks etc? Please define further.

Also, where abouts in NY? I have a buddy that travels to NJ on business on a regular basis and may be able to deliver them???
Thanks,
Gene

What color is the interior? I'm looking for a blue first aid kit cover and the little screw cap covers for the under dash panels. How are the wood pieces for the dash? I'd have to go out and look at mine tomorrow to see which ones I need.
Thanks

Wall township exit 98 off parkway. I work out of NEwark airport. Could meet him just about anywhere . I have a fairly flexible sched (pilot). Doors could be completely stripped if you want , I really only need the shells, but would take whole if you dot want to be bothered.

Mercedes Rear Pass Doors

Rick,
Checked with my friend, and does often travel to your area down past the airport and south to Asbury Park area. Will actually be there tomorrow, but it's too late to remove them today. How does $90 a door sound, stripped? or $140 complete? Stripped is just metal and frame, no handles, trim, mechanicals, glass etc. They have no rust or dents. If interested e-mail me (gceleste@nycap.rr.com) or call (518) 580-1916 and let me know and I'll pull them and get them ready for my friends next trip down that way.
Regards,
Gene

Transmission

As you may have read, I am having transmission woes.

Are you thinking of selling off the transmission by itself?

If it's in good shape, I'd be interested.

Thanks.

Thomas,
I saw your e-mail first and responded directly. The answer is yes??? as you will see. The transmission seemed to be ok when I drove it home, but it did not shift as smoothly as the one in my 85 after I had the fluid/filter changed, the modulator replaced, and some adjustments. ($172 bill) Here is text of that message.

"Yes,
However getting it out might be a problem. The car is currently on jack stands, the rear suspension is out, driveshaft still connnected in the front. It could be extracted from below with a transmission jack etc, but I have stone driveway which might be a problem. (a sheet of plywood might work) Is yours totally shot and not worth rebuilding? If someone wanted the entire engine and tranmission, it could be pulled from the hood in one piece. I know a guy down the road with a backhoe who would probably lift it out and onto a trailer or pickup bed for a reasonable fee. Have you pulled a 300D tranny out from below yourself?"

140.00 for bth stripped would soubd reasonable, as I have a local set for 100.00 but there a little messy. Let me know what you want for the trans and engine. Has the engine had a comp check lately?
