It's an '82 model 240D (pencil plugs)... so I guess the 912?

Not exactly. I'm just unwilling to put a lot of time into that car and want to swap engines to get it on the road.

OK, just wondered. I saw the thread started on the Bonehead forum but didn't see how it ended.

I think, to use a US engine, you are going to need pretty much the entire IP linkage. I guess you probably have a parts car for that.

Yeah, I've got a dead 1980 240D that I can use for all the linkages. They look similar but I know there's some difference in there somewhere. The most obvious diff is the cruise control...on the Euro, the servo is mounted on the right fender with a cable that comes across the valve cover and is connected to the IP linkage.
