Here's the deal:
I'm selling my 1986 300E with 5-speed manual transmission. Before you get excited...consider this car a project vehicle. Ideally, it could be used for converting an early automatic 300E or CE to manual. Basically it's a very tired car with about 260,000 miles, burns oil at the rate of about 1 quart per 500 miles, the a/c doesn't work, sunroof is broken, and the odo/trip meter doesn't work.

Some of the positives are: HD Bilsteins are in good condition with about 65,000 miles, clutch has about 55,000 miles, ~3 year old Ansa exhaust system in good condition, the rear suspension has ALL new bushings (Dec. 2000), good brakes, 2 year old BEHR radiator, recent premium ignition wires with Beru connectors.

Miscellaneous: it has a tan leather (not MBtex) interior with heated front seats. This is really rare in '86 300E models.

I bought this car 5 years ago at 180,000 miles with the intention of swapping the tranny into a better example. It sort of became our commuter car and I just 'maintained' it upgrading things I knew I could transfer into another chassis. Well, things have changed and I need to get rid of it now. Let me reiterate, this is a PROJECT car, however, it IS fully drivable and always starts easily.
