WTB: 450 Engine 76-80

Looking for a used 4.5 liter V-8 engine, model year 76 to 80, reasonably priced in Southern MI or Northern OH, IN, or IL. Also, if someone has 450 engine parts to sell, I would be interested in hearding about that as well.

Thanks, Dave (d.stoltze@bibby.ws)

Is a 73 the same? I have a good running 73 450 SE 116 chassis. I am in Southeast Wisconsin. The car is still together and you can hear it run.

Thanks for the responses. My first choice is to get one in the 76 to 80 model years, as it is going into a 79 and I want to change as little as possible. I will contact you if I strike out on the prefered years. Dave

True - and these cars can use all the help they can get in that respect. I am wary of interchangeablility issues though and until I am more familiar with Mercedes themselves, I plan to be not too adventuresome and stick with the cast iron block/aluminum head/mechanical fuel injection combination.
