I recently picked up this 240D and was going to fix it up for my folks to use as a third car when they go to Florida, but once again, time has gotten the best of me and so I have decided to post this car up for sale so here's the skinny:
It's a '78 model (W123). Light Blue exterior in good condition with Navy MB-Tex which is in perfect condition. The body has slight rust in the usual places (bottoms of rear quarters and front fenders and some slight bubbling at bottoms of doors), but the paint is in very good condition. The car has been very well cared for and I purchased it from a customer of ours at Precision who bought it from her brother (who bought it brand new). She got the car around 1987 and has used it every day to drive from her home in Cincinnati to work in Dayton (45 miles each way). She decided to sell it because she also has a 300D Turbo and the 240 was just occupying space in her garage. We have serviced at Precision for the past 14 years and it has an extensive history, almost back to when it was new. It has crank windows, working A/C, automatic transmission, newer Michelin tires, original Becker Europa radio, manual sunroof, and a block heater. It's completely bone stock. Mileage is 223,000. The only problem is that the compression is dropping and unless you have it plugged in during the winter months, it is hard to start. Other than that, it's a perfectly serviceable driver, especially for someone who lives in a mild climate. I'd like to get $1,500 for the car, as-is. Please e-mail me if interested.
