160mph speedometer from 1986 300SE
I have a nice speedometer from a 1986 300SE (W126)
part number is 126 542 73 57. I had pulled it to use in my conversion from a 3.07 rear to 2.47 differential in the 300SD. I have since found out that it is for a 3.46:1 differential and so I cannot use it. It is showing 210025 miles on it, but these can be easily reset I will take 50 dollars for it. (what I paid at the yard) PM me if you want it Thanks, Joe

You can have it recalibrated? I plan to put one on a '87 300D as an upgrade, Hey I guess it won't fit a 124 car, if it did send I'd send it to Ruben (Greasybenz) I'm sure he will want it for his AMG conversion and he can have it recal'ed using the shop I use when I do mine.
Here's a speedo I have, click on pic for a close up, its a 124-440-85-47 from a 1994 E320/E430

Well, I was surprised when the speedo shop (Palo Alto Speedometer) told me the 160 MPH speedo shown above has the same calibration as the stock '87 300D. The K-factors are identical!
So they saved me having to have it calibrated (thanks to waiting for the right person there) I plan on installing it and after I finish replacing the rear suspension parts I'll take it for a spin and see how it reads Now I just have to rewire the plug for the later style LCD temp display. And paint the hands on the other gauges in the '87 instrument clusters to match the newer speedo.
