Off a 1996 SL500. approximately 115k miles. Engine starts and runs perfectly, but has low oil compression. Great for someone who has the tools to rebuild it.

Just to clarify, low oil pressure, or low compression? It makes a difference, thanks!

Compression was good in all cylinders when checked by my indie, it was the low oil pressure that I didn't like, and did not want to pay for the diagnostics. I'm assuming rod and/or main bearings, not a difficult fix with the engine out of the car. We did have the bottom end off and the crank looked like it did not need machining, but the bearings were a bit thin. We didnt take it past that point.
