W123 wagon parts

I am picking up a W123 wagon tomorrow. The euro bumpers and M110 drive train are spoken for. Anybody need anything from the interior, tailgate, glass, or sunroof? Drop me an email if so. Thx -CTH

Hi

Is this a grey-market wagon? I am looking for the emissions computer that sits under the glove box. If the wagon has palomino interior I would be happy to come back to you with a list of items.

grey market 1984 280te actually. The engine and related bits are spoken for. So is the SLS system.

The interior is leather. Not sure of the formal name of this particular "tan". I can post a picture in the daylight. Has the three rows of seats, luggage screen and all that.

Figure the car has:
- Rear glass (3 pieces) unique to the wagon.
- The manual sunroof
- The leather interior
- gas tank (should anybody need a wagon gas tank)

The rear doors are unique to a wagon too, and the taillights and rear bumper.

Taillights. Yes, I forgot to mention the tail lights.

The rear bumper was damaged pulling the car from its resting place (frozen mud gluing the tires down).

The hatch is rusty and the latch mechanism is damaged.

the passenger doors are unique? Hadn't realized that. They're not shabby, should anybody want white doors.

Passenger doors are not unique on these cars. I replaced my interior door panels from a US 300D

Thanks for the quick reply. I am not familiar with the terminology "SLS". I presume this relates to the grey-market emissions system. If you have a part number to share from the "box" that regulates air/fuel ratio that would be great.

If anyone else knows where I could find this part, that would be awesome. As a point of reference I am preparing to go before a California emissions referee having just secured an lab-test exemption. Would be happy to advise others on this process.

Yep. Sedans have a taper that the wagons don't....

Who needs something from a wagon if engine, tanny, SLS, hatch components are not available.......

Correct, the sedan doors curve down at the top. The back part of the door is different too where the fixed window is behind the part that rolls down. The lower part of the door is all the same as a sedan, including the winding mechanism, latches, arm rests and door panel.

The mercedes wagons are a very nice design visually. One of the best. About the only wagons that look sharper are:
1. The chebby wagons of the fifties....Nomads.
2. The four door hardtop wagons built by GM, Ford and Chrysler of the fifties and sixites....pure sex in a large ...make that LARGE package.
3. The modern Alfa Romeo wagons.

This is not counting such unusual wagons such as the volvo p1800 and the little bmw sports car coupe/wagon.

I have always liked wagons and wondered why more were not built using all the high performance engines and such. The exception is the MOPAR drag cars of the sixties run by the Ramchargers which ran some with 426s in them.

the car has gone to the crusher, unfortunately with some good stuff still present. The biggest disappointment was that while climbing around on the back seats, the 19 degree weather here, coupled with the leather being a bit moist (and frozen), meant the rear facing seat's leather got a puncture. It was perfect earlier in the day sunday, but it didn't survive my crawling around back there.

I saved the bottom cusions for the middle row, should anybody want them, but I was to tired to fight with the bolt that held down the backs. The front seats were good, but the mechanisms to move them were frozen solid and I couldn't expose the bolts and I didn't have time to cut them out with the saws all.

At least the M110 with the 5-speed is safe and in the garage along with the clutch and shifter assembly. They're for a project some warmer day.

Yipes!

I bet if you had asked for help some folks would have come and helped you take stuff off.

Glad you saved the engine and tranny.
