722.120 Transmission and torque converter, W116

MB Automatic Transmission 722.120

From a 1979 300SD (W116) with 617 turbo engine, good condition, pulled from car with broken timing chain. Includes flex disc. Torque converter is available, too.

I don't know much about this transmission; it was from ebay and the seller didn't provide mileage, just said it worked well before the timing chain broke. I bought it then found out it wouldn't work to replace my 722.118 (W123 normally aspirated transmission).

$250 or best offer.
Please email with any questions.
Thanks!
-noah

I don't need it, but why do you think it wouldn't replace your 722.118? I would think the differences are pretty minor..

Hi Rick,

We had discussed this a little bit last summer here:

transmission compatibility? 1979 300sd to 1980 300d

It turned out the vacuum modulator was bad on my 722.118. I've considered saving the transmission as I now have 2 cars with 722.118, but would prefer to have the proper transmission, and since it works for now, I'm happy.

Thanks, -noah
