License plate trim ring

I have several. ONe is a beautiful, heavy cast brass with chrome plating and recessed letters saying mercedes benz with the letters painted blue. Another one is older, and really looks kindof vintage....its bronze with the words mercedes benze and tristars on each end of the word with the little pie shaped sections of the tri star cut out.

If you have any interest let me know and I will email a picture.

Are you kidding? The shipping would be three times the value of the ring!

I'm sorry but I hereby withdraw the offer to send pics. I don't really have time to do it now, with the new job.

Sorry.

I have three trim rings worthy of consideration.

1. the best is apparently made of cast brass with chrome plating. the face of it is very smooth and the chrome is excellent. Let into the surface slightly on the bottom panel it says mercedes benz in about 1" tall letters that are a strong 1/8" wide in black paint in excellent condition. on either side is let in a mb tristar which has a blue ring around the three pie sections in blue, all let slightly into the surface.

2. I have a dealer trim from Indianaopolis world wide motors. This one I would say is chrome plated pot metal. Across the wider section at the top is the word Indianapolis in raised letters with a rectangular raised frame around it about 3/16" wide, the area between the raised frame and the letters has a kindof screen pattern and is painted black. the word indianapolis is painted white and the white paint is a little patchy. across the bottom panel in a little bigger letters it says World wide motors and has two elegantly proportioned tri stars. It has the same screen pattern and raised "frame" as described above. The white paint is a little patchy. The chrome is very good and will polish up well but its not as nice as the one above which looks brand new and is probably 20 years old.

3. The most interesting to me is this one. It is very similar to #1 (both are made in tiawan). It is heavy brass with a smooth but mat finish. The words mercedes benz are recessed slightly into it and the letters are painted charcoal. The letters are a little over 1" tall and are kindof stretched vertically. on each side of these letters there are 1" tri stars cut out. the star portion is actually cut so that its triangular in section. This one could probably be buffed to a high polish and laquered.

#1 and 3 are in very good condition. #2 is not as good but could have the paint touched up fairly easily.

I just don't ever use these type frames and whenever I get a car with them I take them off.....unless they came from the factory that way.

Tom
