I have a 1982 300SD and need a right side window switch
no luck in several trips to the junk yard
and the closest one is over 150 miles
will a switch out of a 1984 300 SD swap out
it looks like a match from the image

or does anybody have a nice one to send me at a nice price?
the trim plate on the center console is also rough
and if somebody can give me info on r&r that would also be cool

Some of the 300SD switches were wired direct with no connectors... If yours is wired direct then you need the seller of the 84 switch to cut the wires about 3-4 inches from the switch so you can connect the new switch to your wires... Jim

found a switch on ebay with center console (item 130230482242)
my trim is rough
when it gets here I have to figure out how to get the old one off and put the replacement back on
also I have been trying to figure out how to remove pin from sunroof cable at sunroof

The switches have a tab on the ends that you can push toward the switch body from above with a flat screwdriver. Simple. Be careful though, its easy to damage the fragile wood veneer whilst doing it.

You need to verify two things on window switches, the eraly ones are ganged, later are individual, and there are two different connecting pin sizes. I think the pin size applies to the later version.

Also, the hardwire issue mentioned only applies to the driver's side power seat. Early W126 cars had the hardwire switch, later were plug connections.
