W123 parts for sale
The following were spares for my 1985 300D (W123, OM617). Since I'm getting ready to sell the car, I no longer need the parts. They'll be listed here for a week. After that, anything remaining unsold will go on eBay. Shipping on each of the following will be $8 for Priority Mail in the 48 states and somewhat more if you need it sent elsewhere -- ask me for a shipping quote. I can deliver to the NorCal Diesel Drive on July 19.
ACC II Climate control module (the thing with two dials and five horizontal pushbuttons). Mercedes part # 126 830 02 85 on the bottom. Should work in 1982-85 240D, 300D, maybe 280E? and also some of the W126 cars, based on the part number. Your responsibility to decide whether it's the right one for you. Looks like an unrepaired original. Tested and works. US$30. SOLD Glow plug relay for a five-cylinder engine. No Mercedes part number but it says "89 91 80 12V/5-Zyl." on it. Removed from a 1983 300D. Should work in any late-model 300D or 300SD. Includes cover and 80 Amp strip fuse. Tested and works. US$20. EGR computer for the 1985 300D Turbo. This "black box" was uniquely used in the 1985 300D and possibly the 240D and the 300SD diesels (you'll need to check). Mercedes part # 003 545 51 32, made by Bosch. It controls the EGR function and, uniquely in 1985, the tach signal goes through this box. The factory cleverly hid this box behind the front passenger's right side kick panel. Most of us don't care whether the EGR works or not but the tach is another thing, we like it to work. If your 1985 has a non-working tach, this box may be what you need. Removed from a 1985 300D. Tested and works as far as the tach function goes; since my '85 no longer has EGR, I can't comment on that part. US$30. Cruise control "brain." Mercedes part # 002 545 91 32. Removed from a 1983 300D. Tested and does not work. What good is a non-working brain box? It has value as a "core" when you send to the repair places to get a repaired box. The repair places have started insisting that you send them a non-boogered core; if you tried to resolder the board yourself (and it didn't fix the problem) they don't want your part. You have to send them a virgin bad one to swap for a good one. What I have is such a virgin brain -- it has never, from its appearance, been opened up so it will be acceptable to the rebuilders. Lacking an acceptable core, one site I checked has a US$115 core charge. US$10. If interested in any of the above, send me a PM. After a week anything remaining unsold goes on eBay. Jeremy
