Parting w126 500SE

I have this 1980 500SE that I need to get rid of. I'd rather not part it out but ya gotta do what you gotta do. It has a gray interior that is in good shape. It is an SE model but has an SEC front clip on it with headlight wipers and everything. There is an AMG kit on it and might even be an AMG suspension kit too as it sits lower than my SD, but I am not sure how to tell. The kit itself is in good shape sans the back bumper. Nothing a little Bondo couldn't fix. The car is black with gold trim rather than chrome meaning anything chrome on another w126 is either black or gold on this car. The drive train has 79k miles on it and I will not part out the motor but it is for sale. I will charge exactly what it costs to ship and no charge for pulling parts. Let me know what you need!

Interesting rims -- aftermarket, I assume? Are the sun visor clips intact?

Thanks!

Sorry, I forgot to mention the rims are not for sale. I put them on my SD. The sun visor clips have the screw cover flap thing missing on each.

If you go through with the parting out- dibs on the front lower spoiler and trunk spoiler.

DrewGerhan 07-08-2008 10:47 PM

How would you prefer to get the front and trunk spoilers John? Ship or Pick up? I have never shipped anything that big before and was wondering which would be more cost effective.

I thought you sold this on Ebay a while back. I didn't know you still had it. If I remember right it came from NJ. How is it for rust?
Seems like someone would like it all in one piece.

Wood Trim

how is the wood around the shifter? Center console around A/C ? would be interested in both if they are decent. I would take the window switches as well.

Let me know, shipping to 17078

Thanks

Tim

I did but the guy backed out. It did come from NJ originally and I got it from a guy in MA. The rust is nothing serious. Strictly cosmetic. If someone wants it whole I will gladly sell it like that. That is actually what I would prefer to do. Were you interested?

DrewGerhan 07-15-2008 06:47 PM

Bump

JohnHef, still interested?

Johnhef 07-16-2008 09:49 PM

I'd rather get the whole thing if I did instead of parting it. Did you ever verify authenticity of this thing?

DrewGerhan 07-16-2008 09:58 PM

No I have not verified anything. I should but I have no clue where to start. I did look at the vin tag and it doesn't say a year??? Maybe one of the first w126s made? I would be more than happy to sell it whole if you are interested. PM me for if you'd like to talk.

Chadahar 07-17-2008 12:53 AM

Damn! I wish you were closer to So Cal. But I cannot buy it, but I have been looking at it since yoiu first listed it.
Buy it John. Fly into Cleveland and drive her home(lot closer than So Cal.) I just LOVE that SEC front end on it.

I'd trade a nice Cowboy rifle for it. late model Uberti Henry clone...not the cheap henry rifle, but the Copy of the REAL 1860 Henry. And I'd fly in and try to drive it home. What an adventure.

Remember, a Rifle in the corner is far better than a car in the driveway...especially with griping neighbors...LOL

I was wondering if the body kit parts would fit an SEC. If that's the case, I'd be interested in the ones you don't want, John.
