Lightbulb w124 console cup holder?

I'm interested in one of these, too. Any chance that this might be available for a w124 (1990 300E)? I'm just looking for the insert piece, not a full console replacement, if that helps. Thanks!

I still haven't gotten a w124 console so I can't do a mock up on one until I find one.

I'm still working on w123 cup holders, but have been testing some new materials to make them more long lasting. The original cup holder I made didn't hold up perfectly over the winter and summer extremes. I'm going to use a different finish since the Helmsman Spar urethane shrank back a little.

Please be patient with me on these cup holders. I want to make sure you guys are going to get a quality piece with a finish that lasts at least 5 years.

Please don't make me (us) wait

Serious. Nice piece of work. I really want one as I just got this car, was fixing it up and already spilled in that center console compartment. If you have one to sell, let me know. dwbuy@mac.com

It seems like the type of finish that MB uses is too rigid to be practical for cars which are subjected to such great extremes of heat and cold and varying humidity. I would think that a finish more like that used on furniture would allow the wood to expand and contract without messing up the finish.

I've got a spare w126 2nd generation (?) shifter wood in stock if you need one.

Please let me know if I can help.

Are you guys willing to part with these for good?

Please let me know what you want for them.

I never saw this post --- yes, you can keep the console I sent you.

If anyone else wants one, I'm asking for $35 plus shipping. At that price it's covering my materials and still keeping it pretty cheap for forum members. If I sell these on Ebay I'll be asking $50 plus shipping.

It will also take a few weeks for me to make them due to the curing times for the MANY layers of varnish required to match the look of the wood in the car.

I decided against doing an additional cutout for a cell phone or iPod. The map pockets on the door or the glove box work fine for that stuff and too many holes were making the cup holder look over-done.

Let me know what you think and PM me if you want one.
I would like to get a cup holder. How do I get in touch with you? Can you make one for a W124?

I was going to wait for a whole piece to replace my forward panel, but I think it's about time for me to give in and buy what you have. Let me know when you have one.
