WTB: 3L m103 (Ohio)

I'm looking for a good or better condition M103 3L to put into my 190E 2.6. My headgasket is leaking and its gonna cost ~$1k to have it redone. I was wondering if I might be able to find anyone with a good 3L m103 that I could just swap in..

I live in North East ohio just an fyi...

Markus - If Mr. Dean doesn't buy your engine, I'd like to know more about it.

Thanks,
Mark

It is an original, well maintained motor per the owner I purchased the entire car from on another board (BenzWorld). I don't have all records, just a few that were left in the glovebox for me. Runs well, idles smooth and at about 500-600rpm. Just under 85K miles. Quite a shame actually, as the rest of the car is very nice too, which is why I bought it. I am using the interior to restore another SEL I have. I thought of using the engine too but haven't had luck finding a good donor car, and have too many other car projects I'm working on right now anyway. The frame was twisted in the accident so the car was totalled. Looking for $500. I'm between Philly and Harrisburg.

Is there any difference between the M103 used in the 126s and the M103 used in 124s?

Nope, same engine. The later 124's moved to the M104 motor, including some models earlier than others like the 300CE which I think switched in 89 or 90 while the 300E switched in 91 or 92?

I know those were all 103s, until 90 in the CE and 92 or 93 in the sedan and wagon. But I guess I just wasn't sure that some of the 103s weren't manufactured differently. For example, I was wondering if the 103s for the CE were altered to account for the angle at which they were installed in the engine compartment.

FYI, again, Mr. Dean looks to have a prior claim on your engine, but if he doesn't want it, lets talk further. I can drive up to SE PA in my Ranger and pick up the engine if it comes to that.

From mechanics I've talked to (I considered swapping the motor into an 88 300CE) if anything, I'd have to swap the oil pans, that's it.
