Thumbs up FS: diff 2.87 ratio W124 300D 300E

Sale: differential, 2.87 ratio from a 300D series W124. Believe it’s from a diesel due to the ratio. Can be installed in a 190D/190E W201 if external parts are swapped. I purchased it a few years ago for my 87 300E but the project went in another direction (got a 5 spd. instead). It’s been sitting in the shop taking up space ever since. It has the ABS sensor. This is not for ASR vehicles unless you modify. It has the same flanges, pinion yoke, and mounting as found in an 88 300E, just different ratio. $125 delivered to your door in the 48USA, Paypal or postal money order.

Thanks!

09/2009 EDIT: New price: $80

The 2.87 diff was stock in the 1990-1992 300E and the E300D 1995 only.

All of the 300D's both '87 & later 2.5 cars used the 2.65 diff.

Hope it helps

87D vs 92 Gasser Pinion

I know that the 1987-300D Pinion is different than a 1992-300E Pinion. You cannot bolt a 87-300D driveshaft to a 92-300E Pinion.. The bolt hole radius is different. At least 3/8 of a inch... Jim

Measurements can be made for anyone interested. Fitment may also be possible by use of a different flex disk.
