Feeler for W123 Skid Plate

I have a two piece skid pan for a W123. I would like to keep it, but I might be willing to part with it for the right price. It will come with fresh paint and undercoating applied. Whats it worth to you?

EDIT: I think it's a factory option for a 300D/TD because it bolts right up to existing holes/hardware, also has small cutout for oil drain. It's really rugged, could probably lift the car by it, but I don't know because I haven't tried

I'd be interested if the plate is in good shape.

Why did it need fresh paint and undercoating?

Does it come with all mounting hardware (nuts/bolts/etc)?

Pics?

I'd be interested in seeing where/how it bolts up.

Sorry, no pics for now. Maybe later. It needs new paint because some of the old paint wore off. Minor surface rust, but its a big thick piece of stamped metal (~11ga) and the rust isn't bad. Has a few scratches and scrapes but no dents. I'm going to refinish it within the next month (wire wheel, prime, paint, undercoat the bottom) regardless of whether I end up selling it or not so I'll post pics when done. Right now I'm just trying to get an idea of how common these things are, and what people ask for them when they do go up for sale.

Buyer can found a Skid Plate Club . I thought it was for noise reducing purposes? At least, that's what I recall from the vin site.

Noise reducing my ass. This thing is built to take massive impacts and protect the oil pan. I have high-centered the car on it once on a large rock embedded in ice with no noticeable effects except a small scratch in the low-point of the skidpan. I was driving about 5-10mph in 8in of snow when I hit the submerged iceberg formation. It stopped the car dead, and I feared the worst, but I just threw it in reverse, backed off the obstruction, crawled under and everything was fine. I'm quite sure a similar impact would have punctured the oil pan.

Unless you post pics, we won't know how much it's worth.

But going by this description it looks like the skid plate is well used...

Waiting for pics...

Some pictures of a skid plate installation here:

Very simple. It just bolts onto the frame at 4 points. Nothing to wear out except the paint.

Keep waiting. Sure its used, but its in great shape. What do these things go for ballpark?

EDIT: Followed the link in Palangi's post, and it looks like 5 years ago you could get one new for $132. Mine is exactly the same as that one, but there's more! It also has a front section that bolts to the rear skidpan and two more mounting points on the body (making 6 mounting points and 8 bolts total) that adds to the ruggedness and protects the belts, etc from any unwanted intrusions.

Dunno why everybody's hemming and hawing about condition here, it's a couple pieces of metal. It's either rusted to hell (holes, etc) or it's not, and well, according to him, it's not.

make sure you clean off the rust before you apply the fresh paint.

So far I have heard zero offers. Since I don't know what its worth, I'm not going to name a price. Hell I might just keep the damn thing, but everything's for sale if you know what I mean...

Then post pics so people here can make an offer and we'll go from there.
