WTB: W124 / T124 300TD Wagon Specific Stuff

I own a 1987 Mercedes 300TD with Champagne Metallic paint with MB-Tex Saffron(174) interior. Thanks for looking, here is a list of things some specific to the wagon, some not.

  • Driver side rear door
  • Door Cards if you are parting out a wagon with the Saffron / Palomino (I think they are the same) interior just let me know!
  • Leather steering wheel from a 1990-1991 E-Class (same spoke and airbag as 87')

More things to come if I think of more. Thanks again!

UPDATE 12/28/2009: Removed items that I have received. Man the crystals on the newer instrument clusters make a huge difference in lighting!

I have that RF door card, actually all of them from an '87 sedan that I scrapped but only the fronts are the same between sedan and wagon (you can have the whole champagne/saffron-tex door if you want), and a white/blue-tex LR T124 door in good condition. The front seats are up for grabs also, saffron/palomino MB-tex but the driver's seat base is bent.

Anyway, I don't know your location but if you are near me feel free to pick them up and they're free (you'll be saving them from the dumpster).

Hmm you are roughly 12 hours away (I am in Somerset NJ)... Thinking, thinking, thinking... Thanks Jeff I am going to ponder more about that idea. Might be worth the trip.

Combine it with another trip? Maybe you can get paid to deliver some parts from NJ for someone else.

I would like to apologize to Rusty for using another web site as my link for reference above and not Peach Parts. I would hope that Rusty would accept my apology and know that my intention was just for reference only and I hope that he understands that I have no negative intentions.

I have replaced the link with one from the Peach Parts catalog.

I also want to thank everybody for the PM's, I have gotten a great response from this post and it is nice to have choices. This forum has always been very helpful to me and I appreciate everyone who has contributed.

Thank you,

Frank

I will check off what I got which is nothing right now but I have had a few PM's with offers. I just need to figure out who I am getting what from; I have someone in within an hour away who has to drive past me to pick up a new vehicle who has three things I am interested but no where near what I have entirely on this list.

Nobody has said much about the door cards and nobody has the door in the right color =)

TTT - Wondering if they had the same interior on the newer W124's with better speakers etc. Researching that.

I have one or two of that wheel, ... back in Michigan.

I still also have what I listed in post #2.

Last, your post (#10) mentiones newer parts: Yes, the door cards fit. The speakers in the newer front doors however, don't. The speaker grille looks good sitting there. To mount the factory (subwoofer) speakers and enclosures behind it though you will need to nibble some steel from your '87 inner door (invisible with the door card installed).

The plus is that you get the newer look with the zebrano wood (or burlwood if you choose) strips and real leather on the door panels if the donor has leather. The same upgrade is nice on the dash (which also swaps but you'll need a donor non-airbag glovebox door). I did this on one of my '87s, well worth the effort IMO. You can continue with exterior door cladding, newer bumpers, rocker panel cladding, '94/'95 front lights, newer door handles, ... I know how to spend your time!

@Jeff - Hah well shipping items that large is a PITA, how much would the wheel cost to ship do you think?

I would love to update the door cards and would probably even cut a while for the speakers in the front too it sounds easy enough; why can't you live closer? =)
