Wrecked 85 300SD

For Sale: 1985 300SD, 280K miles. Located Chattanooga, TN. $1200

Son drove it into a fence. Good engine and drivetrain, excellent interior.

Within six months of the accident last December, I had replaced the entire exhaust system, air conditioning compressor and drier. Not sure what else. During 3 years of my ownership I had replaced front end suspension, rear springs and performed constant maintenance as required.

EVERYTHING in the interior worked including the clock. I have taken the rearview mirror to replace the broken one in my 560SEL. Have taken the working climate control module and replaced the inoperable one in my other 84 300SD. Otherwise, everything else in the interior is original and working, including the radio. Original first aid kit still in the rear compartment.

So, do I sell whole car or try to part it out?

Is the maroon interior in demand? or are their too few cars with that color in them?

Any advice?

Pictures can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/randys32.

If you do decide to part it out, I'd definitely be interested in some interior things. I also have an '85 SD with (red, maroon, burgundy, whatever) interior.

it looks like the frame just in front of the front spring tower is bent.

Is the frame bent? If not, fix it. The salvage yard just east of Manchester said they only pay $300 for cars of that age. I'd like a parts car but am cheap. Also, need grey seats. Anyone know if those could be dyed? I'm in Murfreesboro.

Look at the photo "wrecked 85 300SD 024 www.flickr.com/photos/randys32 and tell me what you think? Isn't it bent or is that easily straigtened? It is in front of the spring.

No, windshield is not cracked. It appears to have a light scratch on it. Should be able to be buffed out by windshield repair shop.

If you part it out I could use the starter and the wiring for the starter the interior woods look pretty nice as well.
