WTB: Set of Lug Bolts (w201/w126 15-holes)

Hello everyone,

I just recently picked up a set of w126 15-hole rims for my lowered w201 and stock w126s. However I forgot about lug bolts for them. The ones on my 8-hole rims are too short and while I think the ones from my 17" rims might work I'd like to have a set just for the winter wheels. I might be able to find some locally but I thought I post up here and see if anyone had a set they didnt need..

Thanks

Kris

Offset?

I thought the offsets for a 201 was about 48 and the 126 about 28. If so do you have to use spacers?? Are the rims flat face? If so do you need the double heads? Jim

These are the wheels in question:

They are offset 21.5 according to the owners manual. They came off of a 420SEL.

They fit on my the front of my 201 without a problem. However due to the fact that have larger brakes all around, they dont clear the rear calipers. I am investigating alternative. However I am still going to need to secure them to the car somehow.

I do imagine that on a stock 190 you would need spacers. Since mine is lowered this doesnt seem to be true. Again, my only issue is with a caliper.

Jim- if you have any cars with the double headed bolts, I'd advise you replace them for the newer style no-shank bolts. They are not fun to drill out when the heads twist off of them- hence why MB doesnt sell them anymore.

Spacers

I think you will need 1 inch spacers with machined surfaces... Because your 190 is lowered has nothing to do with the caliphers clearing. It is the caliphers on the back and maybe the tie rods on the front. Because when you turn sharp corners the front tires deflect about a inch or so and rub. Jim

Jim, You might be right. I wasnt able to drive and turn the wheel sufficiently to test the front wheels.

You're definitely right about the calipers on the back though.

I'd be concerned with a few things if I were to add spacers.
1) If the spacer is too thick my tire could rub the fender

2) I know some people really dislike spacers and others swear by them. I'm not sure where I stand.

I've seen two types styles of spacers:
1) the type where you just get longer bolts
2) the type where you bolt the spacer in and then bolt the wheel to the spacer. this might actually be pattern adapter...

What are your general thoughts..If i were to have a 25mm spacer machined with 5x112mm holes put and just got longer bolts?

I've also read that 15" wheels from a E320/400E will fit...

124 Wheels

I think the early 124's from 1986 thru 1988 have the right offset... About 48 and also are 15 inch rims and are flat face and look like the later model 126 rims from 1986-1991. I think that sometime Mercedes changed the Offset from 48 to 49 and the early model 124's will not work on the later model 124's. I have both types of 124 rims.. jim

Well thus far I've tested:

1) w126 15-Hole ET21.5 -- Clears Front Calipers, Unsure about linkages
-- Does not clear Rear Calipers, Offset places caliper against inside of diameter of wheel

2) w201 15-Hole ET49 -- Unable to mount. Piston housing rubs against rear of wheel face causing wheel to not sit flush against hub.

Jim I think you are right there is another offset rim, I believe ET44. That might work.

I've also been told that 400E/E420 Wheels fit...
