What the hell is going on?

Donkey,

You are being a total jerk off about the whole thing.

I am no ones yes man so don't even think of raising that tune again.

I have read every thread on this bumper issue and you are in the wrong!

If you would even attempt to salvage any type of business you have you must do right by the customer. You are giving this person the normal bs run a round and you know it. I would not even think about making a purchase from you even if this is resolved. You might as well kiss your parts business from this board good buy!

I think when this is all done that you will have learned something. Honesty and integrity is what keeps small businesses alive and well. You need to re-examine yourself...

have a great day!!!

Donkey Vs Joe.... Joe Vs Donkey

Hey, I know... by now it's who pulled my chain! I'm really new to all this, but find it very interesting. Listen ya'll, (Donkey & Joe) I've got an idea. Donkey mentioned something about a $1,000.00, well I'll be the "go between." Send me the grand, I'll send Joe his $120.00, and I'll hold the remaining $880.00 in my personal account. I'll write out checks from this account as others file what is determined to be an honest grievance against Donkey (established by vote on the forum). Then, once the account gets below a certain amount, say $500.00, Donkey will send me more money to beef up my... ooops... I mean the "you took me to the cleaners account."
Aw, shucks, I hope this all works out.
Peace.

Still no word from Donkey on how I am to retrieve this "private message" informing me he sent the $120, if he actually sent it.

I appreciate the understanding (and humor) of other contributors to this thread--if it weren't for the outright larceny, the whole thing could be quite funny.

When you first get into ShopForum, there is an area way down the page that shows who is logged in. Just below that is a list of your Private Messages. To get to them I go back to the top of the page and click on the "User CP" button which stands for User Control Panel.

There might be a simpler way - but that gets me to my private messages here.

Good Luck,

Thanks, Ken, for the tip. I followed your suggestions, but there are still no messages from Donkey. I never used the private message option before--never needed to, I guess. I figured if I was willing to give my e-mail and telephone number, the other guy ought to be able to do the same. Not the case with Mr. Donkey. Anyway, I will continue to check for his message, if it ever arrives.

Buyer Beware

This thread has been absolutely amazing. Just look at the number of viewers and responses. I see that Donkey has listed other posts and he even gets some responses albeit mostly from our moderators. That at least shows their collective class. I see Donkey has an 300 SD for sale "for a friend." Would you buy a used car from this Guy? I've been in his "yard " a few times, but no more after all he's put people through. What an ass!

FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST! THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, I'M FREE AT LAST!

Anyone hear a high-pitched squeal coming downwind from the north country? That's the sound a Donkey makes when he finally gives up the $120 he owes! Yes, gentlemen, after 35 days, Donkey has finally sent the money he promised for the return of his useless bumper. I am convinced that, were it not for the pressure brought by people on this board, I would have received nothing from this guy.

And Donkey's right--Western Union is not a bad way to receive money. It would be easier, of course, if the sender could spell the recipient's name right. After innumerable posts in which I spelled out my name each time, and voice-mail messages as well, Donkey still managed to misspell my name, causing a bit of a hassle at the pay window. Out of the six letters of my last name, Donkey could only get five right. I guess I should count my blessings. Anyway, a sympathetic clerk, on the OK from her boss, decided to trust that I was the guy this money was meanth for.

You should know that Donkey was a jewel to the end--cracking wise in his private message to me about my lack of familiarity with Western Union. And of course, in one of his last posts, he had gotten righteously indignant in defending his choice of Western Union, explaining that he was doing so because he didn't trust that I would admit I had received payment. He needed a "paper trail" to prove that I had gotten the cash.

Amazing! THIS guy didn't trust ME? For over a month now, he has been in possession of his lousy bumper and my money; I have had nothing. Yet HE didn't trust ME!

Other members are free to do as they like. For me personally, in thinking of Donkey, I will live by the old adage: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Again, guys, thanks for your help, wit, and wisdom. I'm sure we all look forward to a forum where MB enthusiasts can again buy, sell, and swap parts in good faith and good spirits.

Congradulations Joe on your receipt of your money. We have all learned a valuable lesson here......make sure you know how deep the water is BEFORE you jump off the bridge.
