I just got the phone call from Bearing Service about that "rebuilt" engine that I purchased up in Tacoma last month... I asked them to inspect the engine before I went and put a lot of time into swapping it into my 240D. Some good, some bad in the report, but one item that he recommended that I replace is the crankshaft - it has a crack in a bearing journal, which he said would probably lead to premature failure. Does anyone have a good one laying around? Of course, there is the local PicknPull, too.
