Perfect package Euro 4speed manual on 300D non-turbo
Hey Benzers,
I have been distracted from my conversion project by yet another car, so I want to share my earlier find and help one of you make the ideal 123 sedan or coupe! I picked up a 1984 Euro spec 300D non-turbo in good running order and recent home maintenance records. I test drove several times before purchase, then dollyed it home after pulling the drive train out. It has around 218 documented miles and a clear Maryland title. The car was full of northern cancer, so in a effort to reduce storage needs: I have already pulled the complete engine and transmission package. This includes the manual shifter, all hydraulic and electrical lines, brake boaster, pedals, and everything else needed to drop it directly into any 123 chassis car! I have a few pics of the removal and several witnesses, including my mechanic that can vouch for its running condition I would likely recommend some new clutch parts during your install. IT shifted fine, but the pedal was near the end of the floor. I am not the most tech savvy, but I'd be happy to answer any questions or get some more pics if needed. I prefer a local cash sale (way too big for shipping) and hope to sale the package deal. but we can work out a slight reduction if you don't need the motor. You WILL need this prized flywheel to match the manual. Asking a very reasonable $1,000 for engine, trans and all related parts! Other parts from 123 and 113 donors available...

I've had one offer on the transmission, flywheel and related parts locally.
Can I get any others for the members out there? I don't mind keeping the solid engine. Anyone interested in doing a 4spd conversion soon?

Great Times
Had a great time last night meeting a fellow forum member and was surprised to find we had so much in common. I am sure I won't get this into my project TD until the end of the summer, but I am so excited to have everything I need for the conversion, especially the correct flywheel for the five cylinder engine.

Those thirty eight pound flywheels are amazing....they look like something off a pre war tractor but they smooth out the idle so it is hard to tell the car from a six cylinder.
