WTB: set of two palomino rear headrests from a W126
I've been getting enough complaints about not having rear headrests in my 300D, so I think it's time to install some. As I understand it, the 126 headrests go in quite nicely. If someone has a 126 palomino interior parts car with the rear headrests in good shape, respond to this post or PM me with some details, pictures, and what you want to get for them.

Your challenge will be that w126 cars were never sold with Palomino interiors.
Neither, AFAIK, were any late w123s with headrests. Is your interior Palomino or beige? Some people confuse the two.

W126 or W116 rear headrests METAL brackets + W123 front headrests (swap components) is what I did.
Brackets Headrest with bottom slit apart for removal Result Then you'll need the mounting kit from the dealer, or from used parts (search). The W126 headrest cushion is also different than those from a W123 so they'll look out of place.

@MBeige That's actually a really good idea. Where did you get the rear headrest brackets? Junkyard? I have a MB dealer up in Manchester that I can go to for the mounting kit. Also, the fact that I have a leather interior complicates things a bit, unless I just go MB-Tex for those headrests? I doubt anyone's going to notice (or care), as long as they have a headrest back there.

Rear "bent" headrest brackets = junk yard (or ask somebody parting a w126 or w116 out).
The brackets from the front headrests do not provide the protrusion for the headrests to be functional (the passenger will tilt his or head too far back). I don't think it's critical to get the correct leather upholstery for the cushion, but this is actually the easier part so any MB-Tex of the right color should work and when you find a good leather front headrest set (more available), get them and swap them out. The mounting kit is from the dealer. My passengers are way more confortable now!
