for a 1983 240D (not too sure what all years it worked in) or clock that will work in this application.

There is a common failure in those clocks. It is a capacitor that you can get at Radio Shack for pennies. Do a search on clocks and see if you can find the post.

If you still need a clock, I just got a used cluster from a 240D off of ebay. I needed the oil gauge, so the clock and speedometer are up for grabs. I'll sell the clock for $10 if you want it.
