I have a need for a Mercedes V8 bell housing from model years 1970-80.
This bell housing will be from either the three speed or the four speed automatic transmission as used in 450 SL/SLCs, 280SE/SEL-4.5s, and 450SE/SELs.
This bell housing is separate from the transmission main case (two-piece construction) and has two starter pockets. See pictures.
A bell housing that is good on the front (engine) side, but damaged on the back (trans) side would be my first choice. The damage is usually to the stator shaft, the stator shaft hole, the front pump area, or the bearing mounting area. I will be modifying the back of the housing, so damage in that area is of no matter.

I will be parting out a 1980 450SL with a busted trans soon. The case is busted but I think the bell housing is still good. If you are not in a huge hurry, hit me up in a PM.
