Title says it all! Looking for a 5.0 or 5.6L Euro-spec M117 for a project of mine.

The closer it is to San Antonio, the better. Lower mileage is preferred, but I'm not too set on that as I know that's highly unlikely.

Your best bet would be to keep looking on CL for complete cars that people do not know are Euro spec. You will need a sharp eye to differentiate... the VIN is a tell tale sign too. I have found a grey market BMWs that the owner has no idea was grey market.

There are a few 500SEL's running around my area that are grey market and look terrible. Many vanished due to that lovely Cash 4 Clunkers program, but some are still around.

BTW, chances of a low mile car are going to be hard as they were all imported... so no telling how many miles were put on the car before it was brought over to the US.

My 500SE was brought over from Lebanon by the original, so it accumulated most of it's mileage here. Currently at 94K.

I'll need a gen 1 motor for what I'm doing for sure.

I've seen nothing but NAM specs for sale here and in the wrecking yards. I missed an opportunity on a Euro 500SEL for only $800 that was running, and I'm kicking myself.

Looking also for a NAM spec Gen 1 5.0L to swap into my 500SE so I can drive it while I rebuild it's Euro motor. Must be a running motor!! Preferably with TC and rails recently done.

Man, I could not give those engines away. I ended up tearing them down and selling the heads and manifolds.
