Anyone reading this far: i LOST a hubcap using regular clips on alloy rims.
I would NOT recommend this.

I am still looking for 16 nylon-backed used clips at a price better that $5-6 each.
Any number that you can share would be appreciated!

Been watching ebay since the first of the year and only acquired two clips so far.
There are some hubcaps with the correct clips attached, but sellers will not separate for me and are over-pricing scratched up caps these days.

Still need 14 clips, anyone please!!

On a related note, I heard from Tom Hanson that 14" wheel covers were going back into production at a whopping cost of something like $400+ each, so those scratched up hubcaps might be worth something if they are the stainless steel ones that can be sanded/polished out...

Hubcaps in general are becoming more scarce at the junkyards in S. Cal, I've only found one or two with the special clips this year, and only 1 wheel I think. I didn't get the hubcaps. (and as you know, I'm keeping the clips for buyers of my wheels, and I still don't have enough either)
