W123 door latch striker Plates

My beautiful little "Buttercup", my 83 240D is very lucky to have lived this long and is entirely rust free, best I can tell. But it maybe has had a little too much UV and my door striker plates show evidence of a lot of sun and heat as the composition material which surrounds the hole the latch pin goes into is very bad, degraded and broken out. I need the drivers side front the most, but would like a whole set if I could get a whole set of four in very good condition. Jim

There is a vendor in Thailand who sells small trim items in sets, including the striker inserts:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Passenger-side-Door-Lock-Striker-Mercedes-230-240-280-300-1237200204-/230834345310?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35becc955e

I ordered a set and had them in about 8 days. I haven't got around to installing them yet.

If the door is very hard to latch is it these striker plates?

Zacharia, have you installed yours yet?

Jim, is the drivers side different from the others?

L/R & L/F are the same, R/R & R/F are the same. If you are in the yards, pull the rears for the front doors. the rears don`t get the use the fronts do.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! (this engine was installed only in 240D w/automatic transmissions)

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
