scrapping good running 300SDL
Has had the engine swapped previously, as it's a 603-960 (with the removable oil-filter cap for a 124 car). Starts on the third cylinder down to -5 dF with no block heater. That is, "chug-chug-running."
Don't know where the transmission came from, but it's very strong shifting. About 0.75 second delay when shifting into reverse. Newer Behr radiator. Newer alternator and fan clutch, idler/bearing/arm. Newer injectors. -17 head. Oil pan has some weeping cracks that have been poorly welded, and then "sealed" with JB Weld. What a crappy design to have a 4000-lb car lead with its chin, right into the parking curb. Any interest in any parts, or just send it to the crusher for $500?

Cosmetically used up (peeling clear, mild rust, interior totally sun baked).
Front end is 108% shot. A sad demise to a true chariot.

Sent PM on what I need, but it sounds as if the headlights would be baked as well.
Still would like a set of 15 hole (for snows) and mats (prefer black or gray, but palamino/beige would be ok too). If you do have this stuff, lets talk about little niggly stuff I need to fix.....Becker stereo (I only have the left channel), cruise amp, dare I ask how the console wood has held up? Thanks, PK |

I'm looking for a fusebox and some of the wiring harness for a 350SDL. Do you know if these parts from your 300SDL would be compatiable?

I could use both lower subframe bars (the parts the track rods connect to, and the tie bar under the engine connects to). If you want to get a body saw I could use the section of frame rail they attach to as well...

Did the car have the original radio? I'm not looking for a radio, but what I do need are the bits of the wiring harness plugs/connectors that attach to the radio. I have a 1988 300E and the PO hacked in a cheap radio. The proper plugs would make it a lot easier. Please let me know availability, price and shipping to 54016. Thanks |
