WTB 87 300D starter switch
After a few years of experiencing on and off AC/heater operation, and a few misdiagnoses along the way, I have figured out why AC would work when the car is first switched to on (pre-start) then goes off after the engine is started.
I am convinced its the electrical switch behind the starter aka Keyswitch. I had a shop try to tell me it was the climate control pushbutton module which had already been replaced previously. Does anyone have one fs? I'd prefer to have it with the wires still attached so as to make it easy to avoid miswiring. DDH

On a 1987 SDL which is virtually the same the ignition switch has a separate round connector that the wires are attached to, then the electrical switch itself is connected to the ignition lock assembly. The switch is a separate part in between the ignition lock and the electrical connector.

So, is the switch itself removable from the keylock assy?
This is one of the PITN (Pain In The Neck) jobs and I guess I need to visit the not so local wrecking yard to peruse their shelves. I hate this thing. DDH
