for my 1978 300cd

I have everything from the knob, the cable and to the cable end. I missing the pieces that actually connect the cable to the linkage.

see picture. looks like there should be another threaded piece identical to the cruise control cable that hold the holds the outer part of the cable and allows for adjustment. also missing the piece that the FSM calls the shaped spring.

There's an older 240D with a manual idle adjustment in the junkyard. I'll see if the linkage is still on it.

Looks like you need one of these.

I replaced my missing one a few years ago with a new one. Ebay says its part number 123 300 00 86. If daw falls through Pelican Parts has it for $17.

nah. i have that. i am in need of the "shaped spring".. what is basically what that piece pictured pulls upon to move the linkage and the threaded piece that hold the outer sleeve of the cable to the linkage so that the inner part, the cable itself, may do work.

Do you have a idle control set up you can picture and share with me?

Well...the little end was missing from the parts car.

I grabbed the adjustment thingy....but your pic looks like you have that. I'm confused what you need. Maybe a diagram of the assembly. I didn't see a spring.

i'm trying to figure out how to cut/paste the diagram from my FSM where you could clearly see the different pieces.
