My 1986 W124's CCU has at least one melted transistor, resoldering hasn't fixed it. I've pretty much lost fan speed control....

Long story short, looking for a known good early W124 climate control module. It sounds like the later CCUs will not work.

Would prefer to buy from a member who I can trust, rather than go straight to eBay.

I have used a later ccu before. The lights didn't work for some reason but they may have just been two bad bulbs. Also check your fan resistors.

what's the part number on the ccu?

Ebay is really my source of the data, I didn't pull a PN on my unit....hmm, actually I'm finding more than 2 PNs. Maybe this is just a case of MB resolving DMS issues with components? I can't find good info on the board about compatibility.

My PN...should be 124 83 00 285 it looks like.
