I'm in the process of installing a 83 617 in a 78 300d. I've had to change over the setup for the accelerator pedal rod through firewall and adding the bracket on firewall that holds the bushing assy for the horizontal rod that runs forward up to bracket above IP.
What I'm missing is the short rod that has a circle on the end that fits over rubber bushing at end of accelerator pedal rod and then attaches to lever at bushing on firewall.
