WTB, valve body 722.4 and 722.3

Anyone have a valve body for a 722.4 or 722.3 tranny? I need one. My cars shift from 1 to 4th by the time im at 20 mph. I was told its the valve body a transmission bulider.

My cars are 1992 300D 2.5 T and 1987 TDTTTTTTTTT :eek

For that problem I would suspect the governor more than the valve body - though I've read of reports of springs breaking within the valve body.

Perhaps a superior shift kit will help?

Anyway in answer to your question - I do have a valve body for a 722.303 but you need to make sure that the valve body you buy is the correct one for your transmission. Which transmission do you need it for?

Thanks stretch. I'll have to get the number. How do you fix the governor? The trans guy mentioned a reason it was NOT the governor but I can't remember what it was. Damn.

In principle the governor shouldn't be too difficult to do - I've posted up some pictures of a 733.3 in bits here =>

722.303 in bits photo shoot

Have a quick flick through - the 722.4 is similar; but has more plastic parts in the back end than the early 722.3s like the one shown in that thread.

Please bear in mind that my comment is based on one tiny bit of information - I'm not saying don't trust the advice you've already had. But you do however need to get the correct valve body for the transmission you've got.

Thanks Stretch.
Bumping this thread: Here are my full transmission numbers:
I need valve bodies for these two transmissions:

722 418 0 3175605
(1992 300D 2.5 T)
and

722 317 0 2961415
(1987 TDT )

I'd be willing to try anything from a 1990 - 93 2.5T and a 1987 300D.
But no gassers. The rebuild kits are they have for these are different for gas and diesel.

Thanks

I can't do the newer one - my archives don't go that far! But here's data for the early stuff

722.317

fitted to w124.133 and W124.193

Valve body 107 270 33 07

Transmission 124 270 00 01

(it is worthwhile checking numbers written on the parts you already have just in case)

I believe this is what you need (and should do the trick)

Is that for 722.3 or 722.4 or both?

Thanks.

I picked up a couple at dealer. Turns out they are same part # as the K1 spring we already had. I tried this in K1 and no luck. Do you put this somewhere else?

Thanks
