Fixed my broken odometer but stupidly broke the speedometer while testing. Help a brother out. I understand the speedometer is match geared to the differential so I need to find one from a 2.2 diesel with an automatic tranny. Thanks.

My understanding is that there maybe different gear ratios offered in the 190d. To get an accurate speedo, you should craw under the car and see what the ratio is and also state what tire size is listed on the driver's side door jamb sticker.

I agree which is why I'm looking for a speedo from a car with the same drivetrain. 190D, 2.2, automatic - my understanding is all these 190D's had the same differential and speedo.

Both the manual and automatic 190D 2.2 cars had a rear end with a 3.42 ratio as far as I know.

The speedo is part number 201 542 06 06 for model year 84 only and 201 545 50 06 for 85 and up. Not sure what the difference is but I presume it is because there are indeed 2 different ratio rear ends depending on the VIN. I have 3 1984 190D 2.2's for parts. PM for more details. Include your VIN so I can match the parts up.
