Update - thanks for your interest

I have pulled the trigger and ordered 3 units from my supplier. The lead time is 2 weeks but I will be on travel in March so first unit will go out in late March. Each unit needs mod before it is shipped. The first 3 members posted here or PM me will get the units. I will order more when I return. The remote unit would be like the ones in the picture, post #5, or similar depending on stock availabilities.

Summary of functions:

Standard function: Lock/Unlock keyless remote. All instructions/hardware/wire nuts included. All existing manual key function will be intact, including factory alarm.

Optional function: unit has build in electronic to flash parking lights, instructions on how to wire it up only. Can be used to wire a siren, siren not included. Unit has electronic to activate trunk or a 12V device. MBZ trunk is vacuum lock so the actual usage is up to your imagination.

Guarantee to work or your money back less shipping costs. Will PM members when ready to ship.

Where do you hook up your system? Is it installed in a specific location? or do I have the option to install it where it's convenient for me i.e., Under dash, under rear seat, or trunk ?

Thanks,
Ed

It is installed under the rear bench seat, right next to the vacuum pump. That makes it easy to install. The install location is up to you as long as you follow the instructions. You may need to run long cables to the vacuum pump if you put it elsewhere.

I can activate my W124 from 20'-30' away with the unit under the back seat. So sensitivity is not an issue.

That's great! In my experience (at least for me) the best location is under dash to be able to easily access connections to all functions of the key less entry system.

ON my first install on a W124 I tapped the trunk lock. The problem was connection to the horn and placement of the LED blinking light. To solve this problem I installed the LED blinking light into the third brake light. You could see it from outside the car when it's locked. And I just installed a radio shack buzzer instead of connecting it to the horn.

My second install on a W163 was under-dash and all functions connections are easily accessible. So, I think I'll install your system under-dash and tap the door lock which is closer than the main vacuum pump's location.

The unit may or may not have blinking LED light to show the car is arm'ed. It depends on what the supplier gives me. So assume there is NO LED.

Keyless entry/alarm system installation on a vehicle with manual lock system is more complicated than a vehicle with central locking system. You would need to install electric plunger on all the locking mechanism on the vehicle. You may need a professional auto alarm installer or a sophisticated DIYer to do the job properly.

I'm not looking for a key-less entry just sensors in case of a break in via the windows or doors.

It's actually nice having a vehicle without power locks and windows for a change. Nothing to worry about replacing.

It is doable but you have to wait. I can find a 12V motion detection sensor and use a control unit to monitor it. Any break in thru window or door will trigger the alarm. You arm it with the remote when you lock the car and disarm it before you open the door. It would be easy to do but I can not offer it for now.
