Paint Works Great

Paint works great, perfect color, easy flow, easy cleanup with water. Thanks.

I took a very nice, low mileage gauge to Lowe's and had them match the color. As I recall, it's acrylic paint. I try not to make up too many kits ahead of time. There's enough paint in one vial to do about 3 or 4 clusters.

On the clusters I've painted, I have NOT removed the needles.

It's dirt cheap and drastically improves the look of your instrument cluster. I've received complaints that I'm not charging enough.

sorry

Hey BSharp & Mark Nelson.

Sorry about forgetting to drop your paint kits in the mail before I left town on my vacation; found them yesterday in my computer bag that I carry into the office. Dropped them into the mail, yesterday. You should get them before Friday.

I shake the paint can up really good before making up about 10-15 of these kits. I fill the little bottle about 3/4 full and seal tight. I suspect it will keep for years if it remains tightly sealed. The little bottle has a screw type lid.

bump

Since someone asked:

Willing to barter or the cost is $3 if you pay by cash or check; $3.50 if you pay by PayPal due to transaction fees. Shoot me a PM for payment details. I've done the USPS research and can send these in a mailer via regular mail.

hmmm, I wish you were selling paint back when I was looking for the right orange to repaint my 123 pointers.
What I came up with was mixing Fluorescent red and cadmium yellow Model Master paints obtained from a toy store. The color was right and its held up very well.
But the 1/2 oz jars cost $3.15 each.
Anyhow, here's a tip I discovered in painting them, I used aluminum foil to line the face before painting. Cut the foil into wedges then carefully slide it under the pointers and fold over the outside edge, this will help avoid getting paint onto the faces. You do not want to remove the speedometer pointer (unless you are also a watchmaker!)
Now, (bragmode on) my "new to me" E320 instruments are still orange! Car was stored inside a garage most of its past 20 years.
