Wanted 722.315

I'm looking for a lower mileage 722.315 that is known to be in working order and with a known mileage.

Either way I am looking for a 722.315 for a 1984 300TD turbo.

Thank you.

Not quite what you want but perhaps close enough for the asking price?

Stretch,

Yes, discussed this, the first thing I looked at on this forum, do you think it is just a tail cone and the rest will bolt up? The price is reasonable.

No, unfortunately the 300SD transmission will not work in 300Ds because the 300D speedometer is mechanically driven, and there is an oil feeder line running inside the transmission to the speedometer cable to oil it. The 300SD transmission does not have this, and as such, it cannot be retrofitted into the 300D. John (vstech) has a thread on this somewhere... I think it has "arrgh" in the title .

I couldn't remember which way round the problem was - going one way is only possible; so mechanical to electronic is possible but not the other way round then?

Bugger - back to square one.
