WTB front seat or seats for '79 300TD
My passenger front seat is trashed, the welds popped when my wife got into it, but she's a tiny gal so I guess the thing was already fatigued. Its real bad so I am looking for cars that used to be common, not many 123's with decent looking seats in them for sale these days.
Need to be in the California to Nevada area to make a pickup as shipping sounds would be costly. First choice would be a good passenger front seat complete with Brown (Tabak) MBTex in the 1979 style (well, I'm dreaming maybe) Second choice would be both front seats with good brown or Palomino covers any year. Third choice? I don't know, maybe a trashed seat that is in good order, local perhaps. I need to fix her up as I can't bear to sell the wagon because its needed to carry "stuff" - I hate lugging 50lb sacks of cement into the trunk of my '87 not only is that hard on the back it dirties up the Sunday cruiser My other solution is to see if my friend who is a welder by trade can repair it but honestly that means a lot of work, its easier to swap seats me thinks. PM please or post here if you have something to suggest! TIA

Welding it should be simple. I don't know where the break is of course, but a mig or tig can handle any steel on that seat.

If it is the seat spring box w/o the tracks, just pull one from PNP out of a second gen 126. preferably the pass seat. remove the tracks, seat back and fabric and swap on your manual tracks, seat foam and cover.
The 126 is an up grade over the original one in your 79. I used one in my 85 300D and the 80 240D. Charlie
