Smile 722.3 trans, parts & More!

I have a whole slew of NOS MB parts and complete transmissions for folks here on the forum. When I was on the hunt for trans parts to keep my ol 420 on the road, finding good sources for quality parts up here in Canada was pretty hard. Even though MB's are very popular here in Ontario, parts for the older cars are getting harder to find (unless you go to the stealership). After poking thru the grapevine, a old family acquaintance was able to help me out with the parts I needed. His father was a 40yr old MB tech, and after retiring, began working and rebuilding MB engines and trans. unfortunately last year he passed away. I have decided to help his son fine a new home for the parts, and try and help out some fellow MB enthusiast as well along the way, and get the "harder to find" parts that they need.

There is honestly soo many parts I wont be able to list them out. But I can help and see if specific parts are available at request. I just might not be able to find them for you right away.

So here we go:

Majority of the items I have gone thru so far are 722.3 and 722.1 trans rebuild parts. Everything is NOS MB parts, as well as the good 2 go trans are rebuilt with genuine MB parts.

722.3/722.1 good Cores:
Ill list the P/N's of the trans that I have logged so far, the cores are what they are, cores, their condition is unknown, but are ready for a rebuild and freshening up. Some might be as simple as new seals on the B3 piston, to get reverse going again. But as I said, and as I did on my thread about my own trans rebuild. Its recommended do a whole overhaul.

- 722.108 (240D, 74-76, 616.916 engine)
- 722.109 (300D, 75-76, 617.910 engine)
- 722.118 (300D, 77-81, 617.912 engine)
- 722.120 (300SD, 78-80, 617.950 engine)
- 722.112 (280SE, 280E, 280CE, 77-80, 110.985/110.984 engine)
- 722.102 (280, 280C, 280S, 73-76, 110.921/110.922)
- 722.004 (280SE/SEL, 300SEL, 71-72, 117.984/117.981 engine)
- 722.204 (250, 70-72, 130.923)

I will add more as I log more parts. Theres some 722.3's and 722.5's i haven't gotten to yet.

Rebuild ready to go:
These transmissions have been rebuilt with all MB factory parts, and are ready to go. They have been tested on a custom built test stand for MB transmissions, and pressures have been set to the spec in the manual for the car model. With that said there might have to be minor adjustments done to the pressure modulator to fine tune feel in the vehicle. These transmissions are however being sold AS IS, because, i personally have no way to test them again, or to guarantee them. But they have been tagged, sealed, and plugged, and look brand new, with ready to go tags on them. The price though will be a fraction of what a rebuild one would be, and no need to send in your own core.
Shipping: I will do anything i can to accommodate anyone who wants a trans but would need it to be shipped. Shipping price is obviously the responsibility of the buyer, however i have these awesome wooden crates from work, that fit these trans perfectly. With space to spare, they should work great for these type of items.

As far as prices go, firm.
- the 722.3 series trans are 650$.
- The 722.1 series trans are 690$
- The 722.6 series trans are 850$ (MB rebuild at factory)
- The 722.5 series trans are 900$
- The 722.4 series trans are 690$
- The 722.2 series trans are 690$

- 722.361 (90-91, 350SD/SDL, 603.970 engine)
- 722.403 (84-85, 190D 2.2, 601.921 engine)

OK. I'm curious. How much for the

722.117 (240D, 77-83, 616.912 engine) 3x available

If I recall this is the auto that uses the lever and not the vacuum modulator right? I have a 78 that came with this type of auto and a rebuild would be nice as I'm tryig to keep this one all original.

I cant agree with you more Stretch.

The only reason im helping out with selling these parts is that I know our cars are getting older, and its getting harder to find good quality parts, let alone just parts themselves (either it be MB NOS or aftermarket). So ive already gone thru most of the parts and got whatever I could get to keep my 420 and 560 alive for many more years to come. Now its time for other folks to stock up as well.
Even though these cars are 25+yrs old, they are built like nothing on the road today. And should be kept going as long as they can possibly go. But then again, I have a thing for specialty cars, and get really attached to my cars regardless if they are $$$ or not.

Have you approached the site sponsors or some of the geezers here who sell parts as a side line? I think Benz World are Canadian...

...honestly it is just the shipping that's stopping me!

Yes I would be more then willing to talk with site sponsors, even with peach parts themselves to see if they need some of the harder to get specialty parts. I just need to document everything so I know what I have at my end. Ive done probably just about 35% of the parts. And its not like my friends father was a walk in retail dealer; or even had a store front, it was pure word to mouth, from his garage at home, just transmission rebuilding, with a few engine parts on the side. He did have a lot of business directly thru Mercedes for the older cars from what I understand.

Added a few more parts.

Woah, this is getting a tad overwhelming. But ill get thru it!

Do you mean a 722.117 transmission? for a 240D powered car.

I don't have any complete engines, just rebuilt transmissions.
