Agreed, the switches are separate.

If all you need is the combo switch (turn signal, wiper, headlight flash/high beam ONLY), then the cruise control switch can be removed and placed on the replacement unit.

I replaced my original combo switch with new from MB. Easy install on the W123 - no need to remove steering wheel unlike later chassis.

While I was at it I also replaced the rubber cover on the steering column.

MAKE SURE you do not break the copper contact points when installing replacement (used or new) unit.
