I have a w126 and the chrome part on the front bumper has rust holes. I am looking for the chrome part without rust and thats straight. Let me know if you can help.

I can't find this anywhere

The 81 300SD I just got is missing the chrome strip on the lower body panel behind the right front wheel, rust holes remain. Minimal rust on body panels behind both front wheels, no other serious rust. So is there something about the right front of a MB, or is this just coincidence?

I don't know.. the chrome strip I am talking about is different than the one I am talking about. Fortunately, the only bad part (rust) my car has is the one that I am looking for... and thats the chrome part on top of the front bumper.

You need the actual chrome bumper not the plastic cover right?

you can get this part brand new at performance products... My catalog has this part listed for your chrome bumper cover as part #88-239 for left front and # 88-240 for the right front (its neat because the catalog has an exploded view of what part you've described too) and they go for under $65 bucks ea ($63.70). I'd suggest you to also order a catalog from them because they've got em with exclusive parts just for the 126 which I've found very useful to find all kinds of repacement parts and accessories. their number is 800-243-1220. Hi... I think the piece I a looking is just one large piece.. not multiple parts. On w126 front bumpers, there is a long chrome piece thats set on top. Mine has rust holes all along and I would like to replace that. Thanks for your inputs.. I will check up on them shortly and let you know what happens!

If its the large chrome bumper cover, that lists at $270.52 brand new and the part # is 88-241... Hopes this helps. If you didn't want to go the new route, you may want to try a salvage yard with a decent one if possible.I just like to go for the new stuff in order to restore to as much of a "showroom" look as I can and it costs some duckets to do that at times although I do find some prestine used parts. good luck

got an email from pgauto.com that they don't have the part. I am waiting for the performance catalog.. and also to see what Dan finds . If worst case scenario occurs... my tech might find a spare part someplace.

I found a breaker that has at least one good strip for $75
+ approx $10 shipping.
He will check to see if has any more, and get back to me. As
soon as I hear, I will Email you the info.
